LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory History

LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory has been serving the local community for more than 60 years. Established in 1952 by LeRoy Purley Wooster, the business is based out of a large home at the corner of White Horse Pike and Cooper Folly Road. In 1962, the facility underwent a major expansion, creating one of the largest funeral home viewing rooms in the area. In 1972, Mr. Wooster added a crematory to the facility. This unique addition made the business one of only three funeral home-operated crematories in the entire state of New Jersey. When LeRoy P. Wooster passed away unexpectedly in 1976, his wife Alice maintained the funeral home with the help of professionally licensed staff. After her son, also named LeRoy P. Wooster, received his funeral director’s license in 1986, he took over managing the funeral home. in 2008, additional ground was purchased to expand the parking lot, giving the funeral home one of the largest park lots in South Jersey. The expansion of ground was also used for the new crematory building that contains two retorts (cremation chambers) and a witnessing room.  Just recently, on a piece of property adjacent to the funeral home property, a state of the art pet crematory facility was built.  Today, LeRoy continues his father’s legacy of superior funeral care with the assistance of a dedicated, expert staff
