Betty spent her life serving others. She was a dedicated member of Fox Chase United Methodist Church for over 50 years, serving on numerous committees and reaching out in Christian love to everyone. After moving to Atco, NJ she brought that same Christian love to her new church family.

Her talents, wisdom, generosity and time were given to Girl Scouts for 40 years. She was awarded the highest honors in Scouting recognizing her years of faithful service. Betty continued her love of Girl Scouting throughout her life.

Betty’s commitment to her community spanned 60 years. She served as a judge of elections and was recognized for 25 years of volunteer service to the United Way. As the Fox Chase columnist for the Breeze Newspaper she brought to light her neighbors’ social activities long before Facebook.

Betty was a loving and devoted mother and wife. Her marriage of 63 years to Bill was a perfect partnership and an example to us all. She showed unconditional love not only to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, but to her friends as well. Her interest in their lives and wellbeing was enduring and deep. Betty never hesitated to ask others how their lives were going. She cared deeply for all those folks and will be greatly missed by her loving family and all her friends and neighbors of Fox Chase and Atco who she considered her extended family.
