Wilma Whittaker (nee Schwinn), age 86, passed away suddenly at her home on Wednesday, October 27th. Born in Kresson, New Jersey, she grew up on Long Beach Island. After graduating from Barnegat High School, she married her beloved husband, George, in 1955. They lived and raised their family in Medford, New Jersey, and retired to Ocklawaha, Florida, in 2003. They had sixty-one wonderful years together before he predeceased her in 2016. She worked as a seamstress at the Medford Knitwear Mill and later at Bonnell Dress Company. She enjoyed reading books on her iPad, doing jigsaw puzzles on her computer, and following her family on Facebook. She loved doing plastic canvas needlepoint and creating keepsake refrigerator magnets for her family. She went all out decorating her home for every holiday. The Dollar Store was her happy place. She is survived by her sister, Mary McKeown; her six children, Connie (Ron), Daniel (Janice), George (Carol), Kenneth (Monica), Michael (Deborah), and Shirley; seventeen grandchildren, Carson (Megan), Christopher (Rachel), Cristen, Daniel, George, Gregory, Juliann (Edward), Kenneth (Jennifer), Lori (John), Michael (Samantha), Nina, Ronald, Spencer, Stephanie, Thomas, Timothy (Nicole) and Tyler; and eleven great-grandchildren, Addison, Cameron, Chloe, Christopher, Elliot, Hatsya, John, Marek, Matthew, Nathaniel and Savannah. She was predeceased by her parents, Jennie (Hinchman) and Wilmer Schwinn, her brother, William Schwinn, and sisters, Ruth Baechler and Dorothy Johnson. A viewing will be held at Christ the Redeemer (Assumption) Church 318 Carl Hasselhan Drive Atco, NJ on Tuesday November 2, 2021 from 9:00 am to 10:45 am followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at a later date in Bushnell, FL. The family request in lieu of flowers Memorials in Wilma's name may be given to Hospice of Marian County, 3231 SW 34th Avenue, Ocala, Florida, 34474. Condolences may be shared with the family on the tribute wall.
