Violet M. Porter

Violet M. Porter, age 93, of Williamstown, NJ, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2020 at home surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of 77 years to Harry Porter. Loving mother of Harry J. (Leona) Porter, Sr., the late Daniel Lee Porter and Michele (Frank) Leonetti. Proud grandmother of Harry J. Porter, Jr., Theresemarie (Tony) Porter Bannister, Joseph M. (Racquel) Porter, Julie (Merrill) Franklin, Eric (Laura) Leonetti, Alicia (Joseph) Pagano, and Amanda (David) Gleason; great grandmother of Justin (Michelle) Porter, Derek J. Porter, Amanda Porter, Brittany (Ryan) Farrell, Ashley Bannister, Tina Porter, Brandon Porter, Briana Bannister, Gabrielle Bannister, Olivia Edelman, Tyler Bannister, Hunter Porter, Maxwell Pagano, Charles Pagano, Adalina Leonetti, Brady Gleason and Troy Gleason; Great-great grandmother of Adrianna, Alaina, Harper and Salvator Porter. Dear sister of John (Darlene) Otis and nephews, Jamie and Brian. She is also survived by her dearest friend, Bernie Rosica. She will be missed by all. Violet was born in Philadelphia, PA, lived in Gloucester Township, NJ during her youth, and later resided in Society Hill, PA and the Fairview section of Camden NJ. She moved to Williamstown NJ where she lived for the past 34 years. Violet had fond memories of her many years of employment as a hostess with Stouffer’s Restaurant, Philadelphia. Violet had many interests which included season tickets at the Philadelphia Ballet and Opera, traveling across the United States and Europe twice with her husband. She was an avid gardener and loved sharing her skills and flowers with family and friends. She had a great love of the ocean, especially Atlantic City, NJ. Summer after summer she would load up her car with her children, their friends and later, with her grandchildren to enjoy a day of fun.
