Timothy P. Barrett, affectionately known as Timmy by those who knew and loved him, sadly passed away on January 1, 2024 at the age of 75 in Cumberland County, NJ. Timmy was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA to the late Michael and Evelyn Barrett. He is pre-deceased by his sisters, Barbara and Mary Jo, his brothers, Michael “Mickey”, James “Jimmy”, and Kevin. Timmy leaves behind his daughters, Jamie Bennett (Joshua) of Vineland, NJ and Ashley Ann Barrett of Chesilhurst, NJ, his beloved “ReRe” Irene Barrett of Newfield, NJ, his siblings, Frances, Laurence, Deborah, Nancy, John “Jackie”, Dawn, Evelyn, Bethann and Lisa, and his cherished grandchildren, Juliunna, Joshua Jr., Jordan, Jaelyn, Jaiden, Hannah and Matthew. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Timmy moved to New Jersey in the mid 70’s, he loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed being outdoors, camping, fishing, and crabbing. He cherished his plenty of weekends spent at his brother and sister-in-law, Larry’s, and Carol’s home. Many, many trips to his sister, Dawn’s house, and trips to the Poconos with his sister Nancy and her family. Timmy knew how to find the party.
Later on in life he became a grandfather for the first time to his granddaughter, Juliunna “BooBoo”. He shared a lot of special times with her, creating a special bond with her. Timmy cherished and loved each and every one of his grandchildren, forming memories and bonds to last a lifetime with each.
Timmy enjoyed watching old western movies, Law & Order, and sports, as well as playing cards, and grilling. You could always find him supporting his favorite team Notre Dame, whether it was watching them or reading his Notre Dame football book.
Timmy was deeply loved and will always be remembered.
Services were held privately at LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory. The family would like to especially thank the staff from his nursing home and hospital for taking care of him.
