Thomas Smith

Thomas "Tom" Garry Smith, 78 of South Amboy, NJ, passed away May 27 ,2020 at Jefferson Stratford Hospital. He was born March 18, 1941 in Dover, NJ but finally settled in South Amboy. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Mary Rita (Hart) Smith, sister Ella Ort, and brother William Smith Jr. He is survived by his loving daughters Donna Lee Valdrighi of Aylett, VA., Patti Anne Moss of Richmond, and son Thomas Garry Smith Jr. He is also survived by brother Richard Smith and his wife Mary Ellen of Goldsboro, NC. Loving grandfather of Gianna Valdrighi, Ashley Loth, Cameron, Sean and Trevor Moss, and McKenzie Smith. He is also survived and will be sadly missed by his devoted nieces and cousins, Kathie Gregory, Mary Reyes, Beth Christiano, Jennifer Berlinger, Jacqueline Huffert, as well as longtime friend Barbara Durso and their families. Tom was a longtime employee of ShopRite Grocery Stores and a member of the UFCW Local Union. Tom had a passion for fishing and Nascar and was a devoted Red Sox and Redskins fan, he will truly be missed by many.
