We are sad to announce the passing of Sue Fruit, age 75, of Philadelphia, PA on September 13, 2024.
Sue Fruit was born March 3, 1949, in Philadelphia, PA, the daughter of Marion B. and Beatrice (Muller) Stokes.
Sue grew up in the Fishtown neighborhood of Philadelphia, later moving to the Kensington area as a teenager. Sue met her husband and father of her three children, Ronald Fruit, in Gardner, Kansas, where she resided for a few years. Though the marriage was not permanent, they had three children together (daughter Ronda; son, Brian ; pre-deceased daughter, Doreen).
Sue dedicated her life to raising her children. They were the center of her world. As a single mother, there were times of struggle; however she made sure she provided everything her children needed and ensured each Christmas was magical.
Sue had a successful career as a paralegal, working in Philadelphia and Delaware counties throughout her career. Sue retired in 2016. She enjoyed television, movies, music, board games, playing cards, the company of her friends, and most of all, spending time with family. Sue was the go-to person if you wanted to know which artist sang a particular song or the name of actor from a show or movie.
Sue is survived by additional loved ones, including; grandson, Casey; granddaughter, Maggie, grandson, Brian; and grandson, Luke; daughter-in-law, Gabrielle, as well as nieces, nephews, and many loving friends.
A memorial service will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

Your Hug Meant the World
Nobody else held me so tight
Or made me feel so right
No one's eyes shined so bright with love
As my mom, who is now high above.
