Stephen A. Hamer

Stephen A. Hamer, 76, of Atco, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 6, 2025, with his family by his side.

He was born in Athens City, Ohio to Jack and Margaret (nee Jackson) Hamer. He was a dedicated employee at BAE Systems in Mount Laurel, where he worked as an Engineer Analyst and has been with the company since 1992.

Stephen proudly served in the United States Air Force and retired after 23 years as Master Sergeant.

Stephen was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was the vice president of the Square Circle Sportsman Club and a member since 1993 and enjoyed volunteering at all the club functions, especially cooking clams every Field Day. He was a member of the Laurel Lodge No. 237 Free and Accepted Masons in Laurel Springs.He was a certified hunting safety instructor and looked forward to his annual shoot in Potter County, PA for the Bow Hunter Festival with the guys.

He is predeceased by his parents; his brother, Roger Hamer; and his nephew, Kenneth Hamer.

Stephen is survived by his wife of 44 years Janet L. (nee Burchalewski) Hamer; his children, Scott Hamer and his wife Deana; Amanda Jessup and her husband Todd; and Laura Skillen and her husband Daniel; three grandchildren, Morgan and Joshua Hamer and Hailey Skillen; his sister-in-law, Barbara Hamer; mother-in-law, Winifred Burchalewski; cousins, and friends.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2025, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, followed by a Masonic Service and Funeral Service at 4:00pm. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025, at 1:00pm at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, Wrightstown, NJ 08562.
