Stacy “Yia Yia” Ashiotes

Stacy “Yia Yia” Ashiotes, passed away on October 20th, 2024, at the age of 81. She was the beloved wife of the late Stanley Ashiotes. Cherished mother of Christopher Ashiotes and his wife, Lori, Denise Freeman and her late husband, Rick, Sofia Fowler and her husband, Joseph, Maria Schanze and her husband, Charles. Devoted grandmother of Jennifer, Christopher, Michael, Andrew, Lauren, Joey, Cole and Sydney. Great grandmother of Gianna, Colin, Jameson, Leonello, Stella, and Nico. Stacy was also the dear sister of Andreas, Pete, Stelios, Dimos, Lia and Irene. She was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews and a Godmother to Joanna, Nicky and Noni.

Stacy was a successful restaurant entrepreneur. She owned and operated S & S Deli in Philadelphia, Colonial Pizza in Cherry Hill, S & S Deli in Pennsauken, Stacy’s Place in Cherry Hill, and Michael D’s in Turnersville.

To know Stacy was to love her and also be well fed! She made everyone feel welcomed and a part of the family. Whether or not you wanted to know what the origin of a word was, she would explain it to you and reminded you that everything comes from the “The Greeks”. She was the matriarch of her Big Fat Greek family and will be truly missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Tuesday, October 29th, 2024, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Saint Thomas Greek Orthodox Church, 615 Mercer St, Cherry Hill, NJ 08002, with the service to follow at 11:00 am. Interment to take place following services at Locustwood Memorial Park.
