Shirley M. Levey

June 10, 1936 — February 20, 2025

Shirley Marie Levey of Mount Laurel, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2025, at the age of 88. Shirley was a devoted wife to David L. Levey and a loving mother to six children: Karen, Wendy, Cathleen, Mary Jo (stepdaughter), Robin, and Robert. She also leaves behind seven cherished grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Shirley was born on June 10, 1936, in Camden, New Jersey, the daughter of Hazel Marie Orlando & George Baker of New Jersey.

Shirley's professional life was marked by a dedication to customer service and a strong work ethic. She held several positions throughout her career in retail management, gaining valuable experience and building lasting relationships with colleagues and clients alike. Her time at Clark's Uptown further developed her expertise, perhaps in a more upscale retail environment. Finally, she found a fulfilling role at David's Bridal, where she likely played a part in helping brides-to-be find their perfect gowns, a role that required both empathy and attention to detail. She remained at David's Bridal until her retirement in 2013, marking the end of a successful career. However, Shirley's desire to contribute to her community didn't end with her retirement.

Driven by a deep compassion for others, she generously volunteered her time at Lighthouse Hospice, providing comfort and support to those facing difficult times. Her love for animals also led her to volunteer at the Voorhees Animal Shelter, where she cared for animals in need and helped them find loving homes. These volunteer efforts demonstrate Shirley's selfless nature and her commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of others, both human and animal.

Shirley's absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her. While her physical presence may be gone, the impact she had on so many lives remains. She leaves behind a legacy woven with threads of love, kindness, and unwavering compassion – a legacy that will continue to resonate in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were touched by her grace. She will be remembered for her strength, her resilience, and her unwavering devotion to those she loved.
