Sandra Darleen Gay

Sandra Darleen Gay, age 73, of Whiting, NJ, passed away on Sunday August 14, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.  She is predeceased by her parents Lois and Billy Thrasher, and her first husband James Gorman.  Beloved wife of Duane Gay.  Cherished mother of Tammy (James) Gill; stepmother of Erica (Corey) Phillips, Robyn (Danny) Clark, and Ashley (Matthew) Pancoast.  Proud grandmother of Paul Caprio, Chris Gill, Kyle Gill, and Kady Lukowicz; step-grandmother of Courtney Wells, Evangelos (Honora) Georgiou, Mackenzie Phillips, and Casey Phillips.  Great grandmother of Savannah.  Dear sister of Dewain Thrasher and Deborah Thrasher.  She is also survived and will be sadly missed by her aunt Mary Miller, her goddaughter Lynelle Corbin Aaron, as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Sandra was born in West Blockton, AL, grew up in Perth Amboy, NJ, and resided many years in Old Bridge, before living in Whiting, NJ for 40 years. Throughout her life, she fostered over 100 children, in addition to raising and caring for her own family. She was a Christian woman, who was full of spunk and had a great sense of humor. She even was a professional clown at one point in her life. She loved butterflies and enjoyed dancing. She lived by the motto “Live, Love, Laugh."

A visitation will be held on Friday August 19, 2022, from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the Atco United Methodist Church, 2128 Atco Ave., Atco, NJ. A celebration of life service will begin at 11:00 am. To view the recording of the service, please click this link
