Rose Zampino

Rose Zampino (nee Angelino) age 102, of Waterford, NJ, passed peacefully on Monday August 2, 2021, on the date of the Feast of Queen of Angels, and a truly spirited Angel she was to all. Beloved wife of the late Michael Zampino. Loving mother of Marie (Lou) Crusco, Cynthia Kaighn, Wendy (Mal) Jones, the late Gary Long, and the late Cheryl Kaighn-Boyd. Proud grandmother, great-grandmother and Aunt Rosie to many, and friend to all. Predeceased by her siblings Jennie Iuliucci, Gene Angeline, Mary Calabria, Augustine Angeline, and Mildred Recchio. Rose was born in Waterford, NJ and was a lifelong resident. She was a lifetime parishioner of Christ the Redeemer-St. Anthony’s Church in Waterford. She was the passionate caretaker of Waterford Memorial Park, diligently maintaining the cemetery since 1949. She enjoyed her travels and trips back and forth to Florida over the decades. In her earlier years, Rose worked at various sewing factories in the area and loved making clothes for others. She tirelessly helped, where possible, on her family’s farms while raising her family. Rose always had a heartfelt sense of humor. She was always telling jokes (even if it wasn’t funny!), making sure everyone smiled, and sharing her words of wisdom. She enjoyed gardening and maintaining her home with many varieties of flowers, plants, and foliage. She also loved music and playing her organ. A viewing will be held on Saturday August 7, 2021, from 9:45 to 10:45 am at Christ the Redeemer Parish-St. Anthony’s Church, 436 Pennington Ave., Waterford, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 am. Interment will follow mass at Waterford Memorial Park, Waterford, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may made in Rose’s memory to Waterford Memorial Park Perpetual Care Fund, PO Box 333, Waterford, NJ 08089. The World will be forever changed without our beloved Rosie.
