Robert Thomas

Robert (Bob) Thomas, age 71, of Williamstown, NJ, formerly of Sicklerville, NJ, passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2022. Beloved husband of Ellen Thomas (nee Schrage). Loving father of Phillip (Staci) Thomas, Andrew (Lindsey) Thomas, Amy (Evan) Sherman, and Chris Thomas. Proud grandfather of Dylan, Arietta, and Colin. Dear brother of Maryann McNaughton and the late Michael Thomas.

Bob was born in Philadelphia, PA and lived in Pennsylvania for 35 years, before moving his family to Sicklerville, NJ. He resided in Sicklerville for 34 years before retiring to Williamstown, NJ 2 years ago. He worked for the IRS for several years, during which time he received a Presidential award from President Jimmy Carter, for his contributions to the improvement of government operations. He later moved on to working as the Chief Information Officer for The Consortium Inc. in West Philadelphia, retiring after 29 years.

Bob loved music and enjoyed playing his guitars, whether it be playing at home or jamming in “the barn” with his former band mates of his late band, Simon Plunk. He also had an interest in freshwater and marine fish and shared this hobby at times with his brother, his brother-in-law Chuck and son Phillip. Bob had quite a few saltwater aquariums in his lifetime. He enjoyed spending time over the summer visiting his wife’s family in the Adirondack Mountains where he caught many fish and had many fish stories to tell. Bob also loved astronomy and stargazing in the backyard with his telescope. During football season, Bob was always tuned into watching his beloved Philadelphia Eagles and always looked forward to time spent with his family. He especially loved playing with his grandchildren, during which time he was always willing to play cars and dinosaurs, dance and sing to music, teach them various X-box games and color pictures. Their time spent together always brightened his day.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the Leroy P. Wooster Funeral Home and Crematory, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ. A memorial service will begin at 11:00 am.  A livestream webcast of the services will be available by clicking on the tribute wall tab.
