Richard (Rick) King, of Springfield, PA, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2025. He was 69 years old.
He was born on March 13, 1956, and was the eldest son of Richard N. King Sr. and Irene (Hatcher) King. He was raised in Lansdowne, PA.
Rick is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Margaret "Meg" (Morrell); his son, Richard King III (Leslie); his daughter, Laura Steakelum (Brendan); and four wonderful grandchildren - Theo, Aria, Belle, and Lia. He is also survived by his sister, Nancy K. Logue, and brothers, Dan and Ken King. "Fun, loving Uncle Rick" will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.
After graduating from Lansdowne-Aldan High School in 1974, Rick enlisted in the Navy, where he specialized in airplane electronic support. During his six years of service, he spent part of his time aboard the USS Nimitz aircraft carrier. After his honorable discharge, Rick began working at Entrust DataCard as a technical support specialist. He truly enjoyed both the work and his coworkers, staying with the company for 36 years.
Rick lived every moment with passion and joy, always chasing the next adventure with a fearless heart and a wide-open smile. Whether cruising down winding roads on his motorcycle or soaking in the great outdoors, he made life an exhilarating ride. Rick's vibrant spirit, contagious laughter, and endless warmth lit up every room he entered. Though he achieved so much throughout his life, his greatest pride and joy was being a loving, devoted father to Richard and Laura - a role he embraced with unmatched enthusiasm and unconditional love.
