Renate Gibbons

Renate J. Gibbons (nee Guttmann), age 88, passed away surrounded by her beloved family on Saturday, April 19th, 2025. She leaves behind her children, Charles Self (Lori), Eddie Self (Karen), Bobby Gibbons (Kelly), Heidi DiFillippo (Marc) and Heike Miller (Jay), her former spouse, Robert Gibbons, her brother, Karl Guttmann (Rosemary) in Germany, as well as 29 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews in Germany. Renate is preceded in death by her son, Michael Gibbons, and her parents, Karl and Klara Guttmann.

Renate was born in Schmiedeberg, Riesengebirge, Germany, a country of many beautiful traditions. She was a mother of six children, always full of love and determination. Renate was a strong-willed woman with an amazing heart, full of love and compassion for everyone whom came into her life. She loved cooking, gardening, crossword puzzles and playing games with her children and grandchildren. She loved taking family vacations, spending time with her family and friends as well as keeping a perfect home.

Renate always knew when to reach out to you in a time of need, she had a special ability to help everyone through hard times with her profound words of wisdom and extreme strength to overcome all.

Although Heaven has called on Renate to be an Angel, if you stand still, you will feel her standing next to you because the Love that she held within her heart is that strong. Renate will be forever missed by everyone that she has touched.

Cremation will be held privately at LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory. Condolences may be shared in Renate's online guestbook.
