Raymond Lee Strempel

Raymond Lee Strempel, age 84, of Hammonton, NJ, passed away on Saturday October 15, 2022. Beloved husband of Kathleen Strempel (nee Capaccio). Loving father of the late Robert L. Strempel and the late Deborah M. Byrne, stepfather of William A. Reiber. Proud grandfather of John R. Byrne, Brandon C. Byrne, Sharleen Taylor, and Lauren M. Strempel; great-grandfather of Sophie, Kyle, McKenzy, Evan, and Lainee. Dear brother of the late Ida Smoot and the late Charles Strempel.

Raymond was born in Floresville, Texas, and was a longtime resident of Waterford, NJ, before moving to Hammonton, NJ. He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1956 to 1960. He worked as a surveyor for Camden County Public Works for 33 years, retiring in December 1993. He went on to own and operate his own concrete and asphalt until 2000, then worked with Affordable Paving until 2016.

Raymond enjoyed going on vacation, and spending time with his wife at their cabin in Pennsylvania, or their home in Port Charlotte, FL. He was a humble man, who could fix anything. More than anything, he loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Friday October 21, 2022 from 1:00 to 2:30 pm at the Leroy P. Wooster Funeral Home and Crematory, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ. A memorial service will begin at 2:30 pm.  A livestream webcast of the service will be available by clicking the tribute wall tab.
