Purna Guha Thakurta, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished member of her family, peacefully passed away on December 8, 2023, in Voorhees, New Jersey. She was a remarkable woman who dedicated her life to the well-being and nurturing of her only son, Pradipta Guhathakurta.
Purna began a new chapter of her life when she arrived in the United States in 2017, and it was here that she permanently settled until her passing. Her family was her greatest joy, and she held a special place in her heart for her adoring grandchildren, Pranav and Rachel. The loving company of her daughter-in-law, Rosalinda, brought comfort and warmth to her days.
Purna's life was a testament to her profound sense of responsibility as a parent, and this commitment became her enduring legacy. She was an attentive, dedicated, and loving mother who instilled in her son and grandchildren the values of compassion and forgiveness. Her unwavering dedication to her family was a source of strength and inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Before her journey to the United States, Purna had a successful career as a working professional in Jamshedpur and Kolkata, India. Through her diligent work and dedication, she embodied the dignity of labor and left an indelible mark as a role model for many.
Purna Guha Thakurta was a guiding light in her family, a responsible and caring parent, and a reminder to us all that the divine feminine presence, embodied by Goddess Durga, graces every family with strength, direction, and purpose.

Purna's funeral service and cremation will be held on Sunday, December 10, 2023 at 9 AM EST at LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ 08004.
