Philip Mcgonigle

Philip McGonigle, age 79, of Clayton DE, passed away on Saturday May 22, 2021. Beloved husband of Joyce (nee Hoffman). Loving father of Philip McGonigle Jr., Matthew (Tricia) McGonigle, and Michael McGonigle; step-father of Derek Pattison, Mary Wells, and Tracy (Rich) Bishop. Proud grandfather of 10 and dear brother of 8. He is predeceased by his first wife, the late Bernadette Hughes. Philip will also be sadly missed by his beloved dog Tucker. Philip grew up in South Philadelphia, and had resided in Atco, NJ, before moving to Florida and Michigan, before moving to Clayton, DE 5 years ago. He worked as a police officer for Waterford Twp. NJ Police Dept, retiring in 2000 with the rank of Corporal. Philip loved to travel, and enjoyed boating, fishing, and crabbing. He was also an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan. A visitation will be held on Tuesday June 1, 2021 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Leroy P. Wooster Funeral Home and Crematory, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ. A family eulogy and military honors will begin at 8:00 pm. Cremation will be held privately.
