Micheline F. Sweeney

Micheline F. Sweeney, age 83 of Sicklerville, NJ, passed away on March 24, 2023. She was born to the late Emil and Georgette Davieaud (nee Souvenir) in Bordeaux, France and she was one of six children. Micheline met her first husband and father of her children during the war, and at age 17 she bravely traveled alone with her infant son in tow to her new life in America, where she awaited the arrival of her husband. Micheline enjoyed going to the casino, playing cards, and games of bingo. Most of all, she loved to cook and keep her family and friends fed. Micheline would serve plate after plate while insisting “Eat, eat! Or you will get sick!” She was a cherished mother and an amazing MomMom who will be sorely missed.

Micheline is predeceased by her beloved husband, Charles Sweeney, Sr.; daughter, Lena Bennett (the late Jerry); and parents, Emil and Georgette Davieaud.

She is survived by her children, Vincent Simone (Roslyn), Georgette Hawks (Jim), and Micheline Driehorst (John); grandchildren, William Simone (Sarah), John Simone (LaDona), Nikki King (Huey), Daniel Hawks (Ashleigh), John Driehorst, Jr., Meranda Driehorst, Jerry Bennett, Jr., Crystal Bennett, and Ralph Bennett; 12 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Thursday, March 30, 2023, from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM at LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory, located at 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ 08004. A funeral service will begin at 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
