Michael William Torrence, Sr.

Michael W. Torrence, Sr., passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on March 4, 2025, after a long battle with cancer.

Mike is survived by his beloved wife, Marge of 49 years, devoted father to Michelle (Patrick) and Michael (Lisa) and his cherished grandchildren, Aiden, Colin, Cassidy and Colton. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, Virginia and Connie, two nieces, one nephew and their families. He is predeceased by his parents and his brother, Charles.

Mike had a great fondness for dogs, of which he had plenty. His latest dog was his faithful companion, Maya.

After he graduated high school, Mike served in the U.S. Navy with honorable discharge. He traveled and worked for an industrial heating and cooling manufacturing company but later found his calling at PNI Newspapers, where he worked for almost forty years. He was a proud member of Teamsters Local 628.

Mike enjoyed coaching little league for GVAA, golfing and boating. He loved watching sports, especially when his grandchildren played. He was a jokester, and his humor will be sadly missed.

Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Friday, March 14th from 10:00 am-11:00 am at LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ. A service with military honors will follow immediately after.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to your choice of Veterans organizations or children’s cancer research.
