Michael R. Versaggi

Michael R. Versaggi, age 63, of Erial, NJ, a devoted public servant, loving family man, and cherished friend passed away on August 20th, 2024.

Born in Sea Isle City to Reynard and Dorothy, Michael had a love for the shore, often strolling the beach with his beloved wife, or annual family trips. You could always find him cheering on his favorite teams, the Phillies, Eagles and 76 er’s, he even got a chance to hold the Vince Lombardi Trophy after the Eagles won in 2018 while working security at the event. Michael was an unsung hero, always helping anyone in his path, and his compassionate, warm presence turned a stranger into a friend in no time. Michael’s life was a testament to his unwavering commitment to protecting and serving his community.

He is survived by his daughters, Jenna Versaggi (Marcus Russello), Laura Versaggi (David Leek), and Catherine Versaggi (Andrew Boone), his siblings, Mary Versaggi (daughter; Nicole Garcia), Mark Versaggi (Laura) and Matthew Versaggi (Ana), his cherished nieces and nephews he had a special bond with, as well as his many friends and colleagues from his career at the Gloucester Township Police Department, Blackwood Fire Department, State of New Jersey's Division of Fire Safety, and APEX security. Michael is pre-deceased by his beloved wife, Jeanne, his parents, Reynard and Dorothy Versaggi and his precious dog, Daisy.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024 from 3:00 PM-7:00 PM at the Chews Landing Fire Hall, located at 43 Somerdale Rd., Blackwood, NJ 08012. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Tunnels to Towers Foundation and/or Shriners Children’s .
