Mary S. Schiliro

Mary S. Schiliro lovingly known as Sunny, age 83, of Hammonton, NJ passed away peacefully on August 22, 2024.

Sunny was born and raised in Buffalo NY. She was very athletic in her younger years and enjoyed swimming, playing baseball and baton twirling for her high school drum corps.

While visiting her aunt in Philadelphia, she fell in love with Joseph Schiliro. Later moving to Philadelphia and marrying Joe, they had three daughters. She absolutely loved being a mother and always put her children first. Nothing made her happier than seeing and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She frequently took trips to Buffalo and truly enjoyed spending time with her sister, Debbie. For many years, Sunny spent her life greeting people with a smile while working as a receptionist at Atlas Wallpaper and at Campbell Soup Company. Sunny had an unwavering love and devotion to Jesus; she practiced her faith by becoming a Dominican nun. She frequently donated food to the cloister nun community. One of her favorite hobbies was crocheting blankets. She made numerous blankets which were donated to help people that were undergoing cancer treatments. She took pride in learning the ancient healing practice of reflexology and helped countless people throughout her lifetime.

Sunny brought sunshine to everyone she met. She always made people feel special and did everything to make them happy. Her warmth and love will live on forever in the hearts of her family and friends.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Patricia Morris, Rochelle Vernacchio (George Schill), Joelle Fierro (Massimo Fierro); sister, Deborah Wohlabaugh; grandchildren, Angela Watson (Justin Watson), Dominique Morris, Joseph Morris, Milana Fierro, and Santino Fierro; great-grandchildren, Liana Ford, and Vincent Watson. Sunny is pre-deceased by her parents, James and Angeline Conti, as well as her brother, Kenneth Conti.

Services will be held privately. Arrangements are under the care of LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory.
