Mary M. Michaelis

Mary Madeline Michaelis of Lindenwold, New Jersey, passed away on May 7, 2023 at the age of 94.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman “Bud” Michaelis, and infant daughter Joyce Michaelis, a brother George Leadley and a sister Frances Murray.

She is survived by three children, Frederick Michaelis and wife Diane of Hatfield, Pennsylvania; daughter Susan Michaelis Bringhurst and husband Ralph of Tansboro, New Jersey; and daughter Carol Michaelis Caporelli and husband Danny of Churchville, Virginia. Grandchildren Misty Denlinger and husband Donovan; David Bringhurst and wife Heather; Karen Bringhurst; Christopher Michaelis and wife Heather; Keith Caporelli and wife Rachel; and Amanda Royals and husband Cody. Mary was also blessed with 14 great-grandchildren.

Mary was born on October 28, 1928 to Mary and George Leadley of Gloucester City, New Jersey. Her family later moved to West Berlin, New Jersey where she was Assistant Postmaster in the West Berlin Post Office. After marrying her childhood sweetheart Bud on November 6, 1948, she became a devoted homemaker and raised three children. Mary cherished her family, and her children were her pride and joy.

She loved making flower arrangements, enjoyed drawing and painting, reading books, gardening, could tell you anything about a movie star, and put everyone to shame with her knowledge of solving crossword puzzles.

Mary will be remembered for her love of family.

Services will be held privately.
