Mary Jo Sarnese

Mary Jo Sarnese, age 75, of Glassboro, NJ, passed away on Wednesday March 16, 2022. Beloved mother of Donna Cannuli, Paul (Cheryl) Mercurio, and Frank (Joannie) Sarnese. Proud grandmother of Charles, Daria, Frankie Jr., Demi, Maria, Paulie, and Ava; great-grandmother of Rylee. Dear sister of Terri (Jon) Peterson, Mario Spina, the late Angelo Spina, and the late Joseph Seckinger. Mary Jo was born in Philadelphia, PA and was a longtime resident of Glassboro, NJ. In her younger years, she was Miss Glassboro, as well as Miss Gloucester County. Mary Jo worked as a beautician, operating her own shop on Passyunk Ave. in Philadelphia. She received an award from the City of Philadelphia for having the longest standing business (over 40 years) on Passyunk Ave. More than anything though, she loved being a mom and grandmother. A visitation will be held on Saturday March 26, 2022 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at St. Bridget’s University Parish, 125 Church St., Glassboro, NJ. A funeral mass will begin at 11:00 am.
