Mary Ann Rodriguez, age 63, of Riverton, NJ and formerly of Moorestown, NJ, passed away on February 8, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born and raised in the Bronx, NY, Mary Ann was beloved for her kind and generous spirit. She brought light to everything she touched and had the unique gift of making everyone feel welcome, treating all who entered her life like family. Not only was the love of family the most important thing to her, but she made it a point to show up as a mother figure and an invaluable friend for all those in need.
She had a smile and a warmth that pulled people towards her. She was humorous and vibrant, with the kindest of hearts. She had a lifelong affinity for shopping and could put together an outfit like no one else, with color coordination always top of mind. Mary Ann loved music and was a natural-born dancer, particularly enjoying the styles of hustle and salsa. She viewed dancing as a gateway to freedom and celebrating closeness with those around her.
Recognizing the immense comfort and power of a shared meal, Mary Ann was an incredible cook who took inspiration not only from her own Italian roots, but from the lessons of her Puerto Rican mother-in-law. This fusion of heritage made way for signature dishes like perfectly-made chicken cutlets with pink beans and rice, accompanied by sweet plantains. She also had an unparalleled eye for interior design, taking such pride in creating spaces that could make any place feel like home and make way for the most wonderful memories to be made.
Professionally, she was a force for many years working as an Executive Assistant for well-known companies and prestigious institutions, including Princeton University. Her career culminated in an incredibly proud achievement of serving as the Executive Assistant to the President of Bryn Mawr College, where she felt that she had truly found a loving and welcoming home. Throughout it all, she showcased not only an exceptional work ethic, but an approach rooted in empathy, using even the office space to foster meaningful, lifelong bonds.
Above all, Mary Ann cherished the time she spent with her daughters and grandson. Whether enjoying a nice meal at a new restaurant, a quiet night at home watching movies, or sharing an inspirational quote, those moments with family were her greatest joy. As a proud mother and grandmother, she couldn’t help but brag about her daughters and grandson, and anyone who knew her could feel her immense love for them.
Mary Ann is predeceased by her mother, Caroline Mariani (nee D’Amore).
She is survived by her husband, Rochelly Rodriguez; children, Lauren Rodriguez, Lindsay Rodriguez, Lana Rodriguez, Angelica DellaMonica, Jeremy Sepulveda; son-in-law Thomas DiPaolo; grandson, Vincent DiPaolo; sister, Teresa Mariani; sister-in-law, Socorro Sepulveda; and nephews and nieces, Alex Dickinson, Franklyn Sepulveda, Katie Sepulveda, Leslie Pereira, Lyanna Pereira and Crystal Pereira.
