Maria Palermo

Maria Palermo, age 89 of Atco, NJ, passed away on May 8, 2024. She was born to the late Antonino and Agnese (nee Chiovaro) Spatola in Palermo, Sicily, Italy. Maria worked as a seamstress for many years. She made wedding dresses and owned her own bridal store and alterations store. Maria enjoyed her yearly trips to Italy to visit family. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her grandchildren, especially cooking with them. Maria will be deeply missed.

Maria is predeceased by her beloved husband of 50 years, Frank J. Palermo; siblings, Giacomo Spatola and Vincenza Crivelo; and parents, Antonino and Agnese Spatola.

She is survived by her daughters, Josephine Palermo (Edward) and Mary Jane Bonfiglio (Larry); grandchildren, Nicholas, Isabella, and Bennett; siblings, Mario Spatola, Giuseppe Spatola, and Salvatore Spatola; and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family in Italy.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM at Christ the Redeemer Parish/Assumption Church, located at 318 Carl Hasselhan Blvd., Atco, NJ 08004. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 AM at the church. Entombment will follow at Harleigh Cemetery & Mausoleum in Camden, NJ.
