MARIA “MITZI” AMELIA DADDAZIO
Maria Amelia Daddazio (nee Matthews), aged 85, of West Berlin, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on December 1, 2024.
Maria was born May 18, 1939 to Charlton L. Matthews, and Margaret C. Matthews (nee Reifenberg), in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Raised a devout Catholic, she received her education from the Catholic school system, leading to a lifelong love and appreciation for her faith and religion. Up until her time of passing, she watched Mass every evening on the television.
During her teen years, she enjoyed working as an usherette at the Boyd Cinerama theater in Center City, Philadelphia. She married Robert C. Morgan in 1957. After starting their family, Maria was fortunate enough to be a stay-at-home mother for many years. When she decided to rejoin the workforce, she became a teacher’s assistant at a preschool. She then went on to work as a team manager for a home cleaning business, finally retiring after owning her own small home cleaning business.
As a proud and devoted mother and grandmother, Maria always made time for the family. She volunteered for many school functions and school trips as a room mother. She attended every school play, award ceremony, field hockey game, and dance recital throughout the years for her daughter and granddaughter, who truly meant the world to her.
She had a great love for animals and children, and would donate to the ASPCA, as well as the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Coming from generations of military family members, another thing very close to her heart was the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States (VFW). She was a Gold Circle Member, and made contributions to veterans and their families for the past thirty years. She loved music, dancing, and tending to her house plants. She was a huge fan of Elvis Presley, Star Trek, Star Wars, and Harry Potter.
Maria is survived by her daughter, Kristin (Chris), her granddaughter Jayna, and sister Helen. She is predeceased by her daughter, Robin Maria, her husbands, Robert C. Morgan, and Anthony S. Daddazio, as well as her brothers, Russell A. Matthews, and Erwin H. Matthews, Sr.
