With tremendous sadness and a heavy heart, we say goodbye to our mother, Lorraine (Sissy-Lori) B. Contardo. Our mother and grandmother was surrounded by family and so much love when she passed away on September 14, 2022.
Losing our mother is like losing our light, she was everything to us, she was home. We are heartbroken and will miss her forever. Our world feels empty without her love.
Lorraine was a loving and devoted single mother who raised four daughters to be strong, independent, and resilient women, just like her. We were always together; you couldn’t say “Lorraine” without saying “and the girls.” She led by example and always encouraged the craziness of life. Whenever she got knocked down, she always came back stronger.
She loved to be with her family, especially her four grandchildren. She would tell anyone who would listen about their all their accomplishments. She was the best Grandmom/Mom Mom any kid could ask for.
Lorraine worked hard her whole life and retired from Cooper Medical Center as an administrative assistant.
On any given day, you could find Lorraine enjoying the Hallmark channel or watching QVC. We are convinced QVC stock dropped a little bit the day she passed away.
Anyone who knew our mother would say that Lorraine had a feisty spirit and a good heart. Her home was always open to anyone. We want the world to know just how much we loved our beautiful mother and how grateful us girls are that she was our mommy.
Lorraine is predeceased by her mother and father, Lorraine and Peter Contardo and her loving daughter, Teresa (Terri) Hess. She is survived by her daughters, Connie Silovitz (Alec), Gina Stant (Jay), and Lori Hunger (Jimmy); grandchildren, Kevin R. Reid, Gracie A. Hunger, Lucky J. Hunger, and Harper C. Hunger.
Our hearts are broken Mom, but you’re not alone, because part of us went with you the day God called you home.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Lorraine’s visitation on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 from 6:30pm -7:30pm at LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory, located at 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ 08004. A memorial service will begin at 7:30pm at the funeral home.
