Loida Calupitan Ortanez

Loida C. Ortanez, MD, age 85 of Blackwood, NJ passed away on June 4, 2024 after a difficult battle with cancer and she is finally at rest.

Loida was predeceased by her parents, Gregorio Ortanez, MD (Loreto Ortanez), and her younger brother Gregorio Ortanez, IV. She is survived by her brother Iluminado Ortanez, MD, (Corazon Cania Ortanez, MD), and her 2 sisters, Rosemarie (Roger Vega, MD), and Emily (Efren Quesada), her only son Christopher Kaushal and her only granddaughter, Nika. Also surviving is her great grandson Ares and several nephews and nieces.

Loida was born in her native Philippines. After graduating from Medical College in 1966, she moved to the USA to complete her Post Graduate Training. She had her rotating internship at St. Agnes Hospital in Philadelphia and one year of residency in Family Practice at the same hospital. She completed her residency training in Psychiatry at Ancora Psychiatric Hospital. She was a Clinical Psychiatrist at Ancora Psychiatric Hospital and at Camden County Health Service Psychiatric Hospital.

Her Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 10, 2024 at 11:00am at the St. Simon Stock Parish, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 178 W. White Horse Pike, Berlin, NJ 08009
