Kenneth Lloyd Guy (also known as Kenny) was born March 23, 1955 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden, New Jersey to the late John and Alvetia Guy. He spent his life in South Jersey working as a Paramedic and an EMT. Kenny was a generous person with his time and prayers, making a difference in the lives of others. His education occurred mainly at Cedarbrook Elementary and Edgewood Regional High School. While in high school, Kenny was an outstanding athlete. He was active in sports which included Track and Field, Wrestling and Football. After graduating from high school, Kenny trained as an EMT at West Jersey Hospital and a Paramedic through the West Jersey State Certification Program. Kenny worked as an EMT, EMT Trainer, Paramedic and Supervisor. His co-workers, (who were like family to him) can relate stories of the relief they felt when he showed up on a call. He was a spiritual person, as indicated by his active involvement in various area churches. Kenny’s hobbies included gardening, cooking, storytelling and spending time with his grandchildren. Some of his favorite things to do was watch his Philadelphia sports teams, The Eagles and The Phillies. Kenny married Betty Neary. He was step father to Sean Tighe (Maurisha), Colin Tighe (Rachelle), Kevin Tighe (Ingrid), and father to Lauren Alvetia Sellers (Joe). Kenny answered God’s call for his joy-filled eternal adventure on Saturday, 21 August 2021. He said “farewell” to his loving daughter Lauren and her husband Joe; his grandchildren Emilia Sellers and Joey Sellers, Allison Tighe, Adrienne Tighe, and Kevin Tighe, and many nieces and nephews who live mainly in the Philadelphia/South Jersey area. He bids farewell to his brothers -the late Phillip, the late Lawrence, the late Gerald (Wanda), the late David, and the late Christopher; Donald, Vaughn (Leonor), Velett (Sarah), and Dale along with his sisters the late Rose, the late Sheila, the late Lucretia, and the Late Dorothy; Martha Tyree, Evelyn Roberta Strickland (Ron), Sylvia Maston, and Roxanna. Private in person funeral service for family only will be held 10:00 am on Monday August 30, 2021.
