Kshitij Chinai, fondly known as "Kays", passed away on Friday, September 16th, 2022.
He was born to the late Buddhisagar and Balaben Chinai. Kays received his Bachelor of Science degree in India. He arrived in the United States in the early ‘60s and obtained his Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Syracuse University. After graduation, he moved to Philadelphia to work at Scott Paper Company for a short time.
In 1971, he married the love of his life, Cecilia. Kays and Cecilia enjoyed traveling and spending time together.
Kays spent most of his career at Johnson and Johnson (Personal Products division.) in their R&D Department. He had a distinguished career developing several major products that became industry standards. He has been awarded 23 US patents.
After his retirement from J&J, Kays worked at Rayonier corporation in Georgia developing new product lines. In 2007, and in recognition of his outstanding contributions, the Association for the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry (INDA) awarded Kays a lifetime achievement award and elevated him to their Hall of Fame.
He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him, especially by his dear Cecilia.
