Joseph Wood

Joseph Wood, age 89, of Mays Landing, NJ passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, February 11th, 2024. He is survived by his daughters, Joylnn Wood, Colleen Wood, Monica Caromano, and Dorothy Wood, his siblings, William Wood and Veronica Beetle, as well as 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Joseph is pre-deceased by his beloved wife of 55 years, Lillian Wood, and his parents, William, and Marie Wood.

Joseph served in the United States Navy. In 1956, he married the love of his life, Lillian at the Mount Ephriam Methodist Church. He worked as a landscaper and was affiliated with the NJ Water Company. Joe was president of Magnolia Heights Fire Department in Somerdale until 1972 and was a member of the Beach Buggy Association as well as the local VFW. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, gardening, and landscaping as well as woodworking and leather crafting. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed.

Cremation will be held privately at LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu of flowers, donations made in Joseph’s memory can be made to a veteran’s organization of your choice.
