Joseph T. Jacobs

January 3, 1967 — February 13, 2022

Joseph T. “Joey” Jacobs, age 55, of Chesilhurst, NJ passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2022. Father of Justine (Bill) Rothwell of Sicklerville. Dear Brother of Kathleen Missigman and Michael (Kimberly) Jacobs of Berlin and Robert (Rosanne) Jacobs of South Amboy. Beloved son of the late Marianne & Robert Jacobs of Sicklerville. Loving Godfather to niece Rylee Jacobs and proud uncle to Amanda and David Missigman. Loved and missed profoundly by close friends Jackie Price and Carmine Daiutolo, his aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Joey thoroughly enjoyed his life as both a passionate people-person and a thoughtful people-pleaser. He successfully spent most of his career in various aspects of the construction and building trades and had a unique ability to convert many happy clients to lasting friendships which endured well after their projects had been completed. Joey acquired a legion of loyal friends across all aspects of his journey and was somewhat legendary among many of them for his willingness to do his best to lend a helping hand regardless of the circumstances. Spending the majority of his life as a resident of Sicklerville and the surrounding area, Joe developed a keen sense of entrepreneurship at an early age. He operated several successful businesses while still a Distributive Education student at Edgewood Regional High School, employing his own crews for landscaping and parking lot striping services, to name a few. This early taste of working life set the stage for a tenacious lifelong work ethic and wide-ranging areas of expertise which served him well in his various pursuits over the past four decades. Shortly after graduating from Edgewood, Joey began his career with The Rouse Company as the maintenance/engineering lead at their Echelon Mall property in Voorhees, NJ. Years later, Joe was recruited away to spend time as a heavy machinery operator, before moving back indoors and becoming a crew chief, where he led interior renovation teams at Starbucks locations throughout the east coast. Joey’s highest accolade for others was that they had achieved “good people” status. At the end of the day, Joey Jacobs was truly and sincerely “good people.” Visitation will be held on Friday, February 25, 2022 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Leroy P. Wooster Funeral Home and Crematory, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ. A brief memorial prayer service will begin at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joey’s memory to the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry, 157 W. White Horse Pike, Berlin, NJ 08009 would be graciously appreciated.
