Tony had a love for cars, when I met him early on he was taking his 1965 GTO apart and rebuilding and clean it bit by bit. It ran smoothly afterwards. He had many cars, starting from when his Aunt Marie gave a 1954 Chevy, he loved his first car. This left him to accumulating many cars and motorcycle.
Here is a list of cars he had:
1: 1954 Chevy 2: 1965 GTO 3: Road Runner 4: Plymouth 5: 2 Cadillacs 6: Mercedes Benz
7: 1972 Chrysler 8: Chevy Celebrity 9: Lincoln Town Car 10: 2 Vans 11: 442 Pontiac 12: Chevy Blazer
And One Motor Cycle.
He decided he wanted a home away from the turmoil of Philadelphia, PA so he bought a House in Cherry Hill, NJ. He and Phyllis had Jason (who passed away in 2017) at home, among family and friends. Fond memories were held there and the ups and downs of trying to have a blended family that didn’t work out. As time went by, we downsized, to a smaller home with us three in Atco, NJ.
Tony retired from Verizon in 1988, he worked 32 years with them. Then he went with Shop-Rite where he once again worked hard and rose from Deli worker, to the Seafood Manager. “Hard work working with those fish” he said, he retired from them after 16 years.
He loved the grands. Loved going to their basketball games, soccer, flag football and wrestling matched. He looked forward to the mad rush in the early mornings, to get to their games.
Finally, he can rest and enjoy life and our 4 cats; Suzie, Miles, Cookie (his favorite), and Fifi.
But tragically, fate was waiting for us, Jason our son died on April 17, 2017 and this hit Tony hard. Jason was Tony’s wingman for every trip they made together. I know they are in Heaven borrowing a car to go to Wal-Mart Heaven. (SMILE). After the lost of Jason, Tony’s health started to decline. He had many health issues that got worse.
He had Alzheimer’s Dementia. His memory faded slowly and his mobility to hold items was gone. He knew he couldn’t beat this one, but everyday he talked and laughed until that become hard.
Tony passed on January 31, 2023 am at 4:38 p.m. as I held his hand and told him, that I Love and will miss you took his last breath.
