James M. Faris

James M. Faris, age 96, of Atco, NJ, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2022. He was born in Weston, WV. James proudly served in the United States Army during World War II and Korea. While serving in Shanghai, he met his late wife, Edith, who had escaped from Nazi Germany. From their union, four children were born. A lover of old-time country music, he relished singing and playing his guitar; often serenading his family and friends. James was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and was thrilled to watch their opening season win! He also enjoyed West Virginia, Marshall, & Army Football and was a fixture in the stands for many years for his beloved Edgewood, now Winslow Twp., Eagles High School games.

James is predeceased by his beloved wife, Edith I. Faris and son, David Faris.

He is survived by his children, Steven Faris, Janet Faris, and Holly Faris (Louis Schiavo); grandchildren,

Jason, George, Stephanie, Owen, Adam, Daniel, and Brendan Faris; 8 great grandchildren and 4 step grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Thursday, September 29, 2022 from 10am-11am at LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory, located at 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ 08004. A memorial service will begin at 11am at the funeral home.
