James J. Tillman

James J. Tillman, age 48 of Clementon, NJ, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2024, with his sister, Connie, and his best friend Amy, by his side. James was the most devoted father of Joseph, with whom he shared with his wife of 15 years, Lori. He was born to the late Ida (nee Poole) and Zebedee Tillman in Philadelphia, PA. James was raised from age 13 by foster parents, the late Barbara Sabado and Rudy Sabado.

James is predeceased by his sisters, Lucinda and Brenda, and brothers, Zebedee Tillman, Jr., and Robert Tillman.

James is survived by his longtime companion, Colleen Wells; siblings, Constance Tillman, Samuel Tillman, Ezell Tillman, and Isaac Tillman; sister-in-law, Rosa; and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him tremendously.

James had many friends he considered his family throughout the years including the owners & staff at Federal Rent A Fence in West Berlin, where he worked for the past 12 years. You could find James working in the FILA store or in the Freestyle Music Community, where he spent time when he was not doting on Joey. While James made everyone feel special, everyone that met James knew Joey was the light of his life and nothing compared to his love for his son.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Sunday, February 4, 2024, from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Joey’s Education Fund, check payable to: For the Benefit of Joseph Tillman
