James E. “Jimmie” Hays, age 69, of Atco, NJ, passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2021. Cherished husband of 47 years to Eleanore Hays (nee MacDonald). Loving brother of Jeffrey M. (Debra) Hays, Richard L. (Catherine) Hays, and Carol L. (Scott) Miller; brother-in-law of Susan MacDonald (Bernard Williams). Proud uncle of Desiree, Brittney, Libby, Kayla, and James. Jimmie was born in Baltimore, MD and was a longtime resident of Atco, NJ. Growing up, he attained the rank of Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America. He owned and operated M.A.C.H. Painting in Williamstown, NJ. Jimmie was a true craftsman who enjoyed working with stained glass, painting, and woodworking. One of his greatest enjoyments was perfectly cultivating and manicuring his front lawn. He even won the Courier Post best lawn contest 2 years in a row. Jimmie also was a good cook and an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan. Above all else, he loved and cherished the moments he spent with his wife. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday March 26, 2021 at 11:00 am at Christ the Redeemer Parish – Assumption Church, 318 Carl Hasselhan Dr., Atco, NJ. There will be no viewing or visitation prior to the mass.
