Harold R. Dewitt

Harold R. DeWitt Jr., age 78, of Chesilhurst, NJ, passed away on Wednesday January 14, 2020. Beloved husband of Linda DeWitt (nee Lloyd). Loving father of Steven (Amy) DeWitt and Jennifer (Neal) Snyder. Proud grandfather of Stephanie, Steven, Ethan, Zachary, Neal Jr. (Elizabeth), Jessie, Ken, Karlie, and Joshua; great-grandfather of Vincent and Clyde. Dear brother of Marie Wagner and Robert DeWitt. Harold was born in Mt. Holly, NJ and had resided in Chesilhurst for the past 45 years. He worked as a Dairy Manager for Murphy’s Markets for many years. Harold was a member of Medford Fire Dept. for 25 years, before joining Cedar Brook Fire Co (Winslow Twp. Fire Dept.) in 1978, where he was the longtime financial secretary. He was actively involved in the Winslow Twp. Relief Association, and past president of the Camden County Relief Association and Camden County Fireman’s Association. Viewing will be held on Tuesday January 19, 2021 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm and again on Wednesday January 20, 2021 from 9:30 to 10:30 am at the Leroy P. Wooster Funeral Home and Crematory, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ. A prayer service will begin at 10:30 am on Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Plymouth Meeting, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center, https://gifts.mdanderson.org.
