Gustavo Alejandro Guerrero, age 47, of Atlantic City, NJ, affectionately known to others as “Gus,” and “Little Gus,” passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 8, 2021. Gus was born in Neptune, NJ and grew up at the Jersey shore surrounded by many friends and family who loved his boundless energy, humor, creativity and curiosity. He was loving, funny, kind, hopeful and generous with whatever he had, no matter how little. He had a curiosity about others and would pepper you with so many questions as he tried to learn from another’s experiences and ideas. He also had a twinkle in his eye and laughter that could lighten the roughest moments. His passion for art and love of food were constants throughout his life. He made beautiful and expressive art that he was delighted to sell but just as happy to share with friends. He also enjoyed learning about food, working with food, and appreciating all kinds of foods. Another constant was his love of the shore. He enjoyed the seaside and loved when he could live near the ocean. He was a really good person with a grateful heart. He cared about the plight of people and he was so accepting of those whose lives have been affected by life’s hardships. Gus recognized that there was much bad in this world, but was always looking for the good in people. He was blessed with his only child, his daughter Savannah, in August 2020, and loved her fully from the time he found out her mother was expecting. Savannah was his greatest joy, and he looked for the best for her and for her mother. He was an honorable parent who chose to make sure he was counted and accountable in his daughter’s life. The joy of spending time with his beautiful daughter and the pride of being a father meant the world to him. Though her memory of him may fade, as she is so young, Savannah will carry the imprint of his love forever. Gus will be profoundly missed by his mother and father, Elaine and Gustavo, his sisters and niece, Yasmin, Fallyme and Leilani, as well as his brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, and many cousins. He also leaves the light of his memory to his ex-wife Kisha, and the many other dear friends and acquaintances whose lives’ he shared through the years. His passing is a great sorrow, but he will live on through us. Gus left this world generously giving of himself to help others. As an organ donor he saved at least three lives and contributed to improving many others. The family has privately mourned Gus’ passing. Condolences and memories may be shared on the tribute wall at www.lpwoosterfuneralhome.com. Once the grief subsides, a private celebration of Gus’ life is expected later this year.
