Gloria P. West

Gloria P. West, age 77, of Voorhees, NJ, passed away on Saturday September 24, 2022. Gloria was born on April 7, 1945, in Chester, PA and was the daughter of the late Mattie West-Norris (nee Wilson) and James Evans. Beloved mother of Monica A. West-Morris (Kyle) of Sicklerville, NJ, and Lamar West (Tracy Cousins) of Raeford, NC, and sister Edna E. West of Riverview, FL. Loving grandmother of seven grandchildren, John R. Barnes, LaKia S. West, Lamar West, Jr., Shanyse D. Kee-Waugh (Ameer), Brandon West, William West, and Bianca Evans. Proud great-grandmother of 25 and many nieces and nephews.

Gloria grew up in Chester, PA and attended Chester High School. She later moved to Philadelphia and then Sicklerville, NJ. She worked for Smith Kline Beecham from 1972 to 1987. During this time, she obtained her high school GED and then proudly graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Cheyney State College in 1980 (now Cheyney University).

A viewing will be held on Wednesday September 28, 2022, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at the Leroy P. Wooster Funeral Home and Crematory, 441 White Pike, Atco, NJ. A prayer service will begin at 1:00 pm. Cremation will be held privately. Please clink this link to view the live stream of the service
