George W. Young, Jr.

George W. Young, Jr., age 82, of Marlton Lakes, NJ, passed away on Friday June 19, 2020 at home surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of Joanne Young (nee Stover). Loving father of Terri Brandel (Frank), the late George Jeffrey Young (Twila – surviving), Barbara Wunsch (Frank), Sandra Young (Ken), and Brian Young (Christi). Proud grandfather of 10 and great-grandfather of 6. George was born in Camden, NJ and had resided in Marlton Lakes since 1978. He proudly served in the military, first serving in the Marine Corps, then joining the Air Force in 1977. He was assigned to the 335 MAS as a Loadmaster, and bravely served in Operation Desert Shield/Storm. He retired from the Air Force in 1997. George worked as a Business Systems Repairman for NJ Bell Telephone and then AT&T, retiring in December of 1991. In his retirement, he loved to travel and spend winters in Venice, FL with his wife. A visitation will be held on Tuesday July 14, 2020 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the Leroy P. Wooster Funeral Home and Crematory, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ. A graveside service and military honors will be held following the visitation at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ.
