George P. Gevaras

George P Gevaras, age 85, passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones on Nov 30, 2022 at Samaritan Hospice, Voorhees, NJ. He was born Sept 2, 1937, in Rahway NJ. George married his wife Helen Ponticello Sept 25, 1955. Together, they proudly raised 8 children in their 57 years of marriage. George pursued various careers over the years such as a truck driver, cab driver, property maintenance supervisor, and a Craps dealer in Atlantic City. His time was spent being with his family, playing poker and most of all chasing the Ponies!! George kept his pleasures simple and quiet.

He is survived by his brother John, five sons; George, Peter, Danny, Ernie, and Teddy and two daughters; Flo and Grace as well as his son in laws and daughter in laws. He had 18 Grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. He had many loving family members sister and brother in laws and nieces and nephews.

George is pre- deceased by his parents Peter and Grace Gevaras, his sister Barbara Vierschilling, his beloved wife Helen Gevaras and their son Clifford Gevaras and grandson Philip Gevaras.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday December 7, 2022 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Leroy P. Wooster Funeral Home and Crematory, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Bordentown Cemetery, Bordentown, NJ.
