George J. Smith

George J. Smith, age 75, of Atco, NJ passed away peacefully on Friday, February 16 th, 2024. He is survived by his wife, Juneann K. Smith (nee Kasperowicz), his son, Chris Smith (Nikki), his brothers, Phil (RoseAnn) and Robert (Rose Anne), his grandchildren, Joshua (Holly) and Nyssa, his great-grandchild, George III, his nieces and nephew, Christina, Stephanie, Debbie and Tom as well as his beloved cats, Boo Boo and Buffy. He is pre-deceased by his parents, Philip and Mildred, as well as his son, George Jr.

George was born in Camden, NJ. He received a Bachelor’s Degree from Rutgers University and worked as an accountant. He was a US Army Veteran. On January 9 th, 1999, he married his love, Juneann. George was a part of the Cara Irish Society, the Army Band and also The Drum and Bugle Corp. He deeply enjoyed traveling with Juneann, visiting Ireland, the Caribbean, Poconos, and Canada just to name a few. He also enjoyed playing trivia games with his team Dilly Dilly. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and will be deeply missed.

Cremation will be held privately. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, February 22nd, 2024, from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm at LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ. Military honors and words of remembrance will begin at 5:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge will be encouraged.
