George Cozzi, age 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at his home in Waterford, NJ. Although he was born in Chesilhurst, NJ, he lived most of his life in Waterford, NJ. George owned and operated Cozzi Excavating and Paving for more than 50 years. George is best known for driving his trucks and operating his machinery. He spent countless hours on the road doing what he loved. He is survived by his longtime companion Eileen Crean of West Berlin, her daughters Erin Crean and Jaclyn (Dan) Walther, his nieces, Rhonda (George) Hilbert and Dawn DeJesse, sister-in-law Linda DeAngelis, and nephews Patrick Martin and Chad Martin. He is preceded in death by his father George, his mother Rose (Sadie), and brother Ronald. George loved fishing, watching NASCAR, and telling stories. He was always happiest spending time with family and friends. George was also a devoted member of the Waterford Volunteer Fire Company for many years. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the life celebration and viewing for George Cozzi on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ and Thursday, June 17, 2021, 9:30am to 10:15am. Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Christ the Redeemer Parish/St. Anthony’s Church at 436 Pennington Avenue, Waterford, NJ. Interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Berlin, NJ. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Christ the Redeemer Parish/St. Anthony’s Church in Waterford, NJ.
