Frank R. Wister

February 16, 1953 — April 25, 2022

Frank R. Wister, (Crazy Pop, Woo, Coach Frank) – born February 16, 1953, passed away peacefully at Samaritan Hospice, Voorhees, NJ, on April 25, 2022 at the age of 69. Son of the late Gerald K. Wister and Evelyn H. (nee Hubler). Frank was a longtime resident of the Atco, NJ area. He was predeceased in death by 2 brothers, Gerald and George. Survived by sister, Mary Tilton (nee Wister) of West Virginia. Husband of Karen Balducci of Sicklerville and beloved father of Brian Wister of Sicklerville, Matthew Wister and wife Kristel (nee Watson) of Atco, and Shawn Wister of Myrtle Beach. Admired grandfather of 10, Andrew, Shawn, Alexandria, Brooke, Kaylah, Dylan, Brianna, Mackenzie, Addison, and Jackson. He is also survived by three nieces, Sonja, Nicole, and Ashley. After attending Pennsauken High School Frank enlisted in the United States Marines in 1972 and was Honorably Discharged from service 2 years later. Frank was a letter carrier for the US Postal Service, Cherry Hill, NJ for many years. Upon retirement, rather than sailing off into the sunset, he joined T&L Transportation, where he drove a school bus for many years, before joining the Pine Hill School District. Frank enjoyed taking long walks around the neighborhood and maintaining a perfectly landscaped lawn. A skilled woodworker, Frank made many toy boxes, cornhole-board sets, and Adirondack chairs. He even built himself a new shed from scratch. However, his passion and most everlasting quality was his adoration of his 3 boys and 10 grandchildren. Whether playing the role of Dad or Crazy Pop he tirelessly attended every sporting event he could, whether they were the star of the game or riding the pine, Frank never missed a game. He continued to help his son coach softball for Waterford Township until he fell ill. Frank touched a lot of people during his time here and exemplified to all, how to be the best father, grandfather and friend one could ever ask for. Taken from us way too soon, With the cherry blossoms in bloom. You were a mentor and guide, Always right there at our side. We really wish you were able to stay, But our memories will have to suit. Until we meet again one day, Glasses raised, we say Salud! Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Frank’s life on Sunday, May 1, 2022 between 1pm and 3pm at LeRoy P.
