Florence Gerst

Florence Gerst, age 94 of Atco NJ, passed away on October 4, 2024. Born in Philadelphia, Florence dedicated much of her life to education and service, retiring as a science teacher from Neshaminy High School and also working with the IRS.

Florence received her undergraduate degree from Temple University and her Master’s degree from Westchester University, demonstrating her commitment to lifelong learning and academic excellence. Known for her hardworking, organized, and loyal nature, she touched the lives of many students and colleagues throughout her career.

Beyond her professional life, Florence was deeply committed to animal rescue and enjoyed gardening, nurturing both plants and animals with great care and affection.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Charlene Murray, and many close friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Fred; her mother, Florence Brinkworth; her sister, Joan; and her brother, Edwin.

Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory and will be held privately.
