Elmer W. Scharr

Elmer “Butch” W. Scharr age 77 of Clayton, NJ (formerly of Pine Hill, NJ) passed away on Sunday, June 20, 2021. Beloved husband of Virginia “Ginny” (nee Congdon) for 56 years. Loving father of Donna Contrevo (Tim) of Mullica Hill, NJ, Mark Scharr (Donna-Marie) of Deerfield, NH, and Kevin Scharr (Erika) of Flourtown, PA. Grandfather of Maxwell Scharr, Olivia Scharr and Grayson Scharr. Mr. Scharr is also survived by his brother and sisters, Edward Scharr of Cinnaminson, NJ, Eleanore Davis of Bellmawr, NJ, Shirley Wills of Atco, NJ, Margaret Weitzel of Bellmawr, NJ and Helen Edelmayer of Deptford, NJ. Elmer loved hunting and fishing and he was the true typical Philadelphia Sports Fan. No matter how good or bad they played, he supported them. His true passion, however, was his love of his family of which he was so proud. Not a day went by where he didn’t boast about his kids and his grandkids. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00pm at the LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home and Crematory, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ. A family eulogy will begin at 7:00pm followed by cremation. Graveside services and interment of his urn will take place on Thursday, June 24, 2021 10:00am at the Atco Cemetery.
