Elizabeth Massaro

Elizabeth Massaro, age 60, died in her New Jersey home on February 4th 2024, after a long and painful battle with brain cancer.

Elizabeth was born on April 23 rd,1963 to Italian immigrants Elisabetta and Cliffton Massaro. She was raised in the slums of Camden city where, she survived a harsh and deprived childhood. During this time, she would develop a mental toughness, and irreverent, cynical world view, which would come to define her personality.

In her adult life, Elizabeth grew to become an educated and intellectually curious working professional. She enjoyed a career as both an educational media specialist, and as a library director. She spoke fluent Italian. She enjoyed writing poetry and short stories, cooking, drawing, painting, and crocheting dolls and clothes. Elizabeth loved children and animals, particularly dogs. She considered motherhood her greatest achievement, and her most worth-while life experience.

Elizabeth is survived by her husband of 32 years, Michael, and her daughter, Emily.

Cremation and services will be held privately at LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home. Condolences may be shared on her tribute wall.
