Edward Thomas McKay, Jr., also known as “Pop-A-Top” from Pine Hill, NJ went home to be with the Lord on November 29, 2021 at the age of 70 yrs. He was born on August 22, 1951 in Camden, NJ. Ed attended Overbrook High School until he joined the Navy in 1968. His military service included three deployments to Vietnam. He will be deeply missed and remembered by his wife, Linda (nee Duffey) of 31 yrs., his children, Thomas, Edward, Jennifer and Melanie who was like a daughter to him and eight grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Mary Jane Muncey, Donna Whiteman and Valerie McLeod, as well as their spouses and children and a nephew Donnie Tarola from Florida. Ed is predeceased by his mother Mary J. Whiteman, Stepfather Donald Whiteman and his sister Kathy Kindle (nee Tarola) from Florida. Ed worked as a truckdriver, both cross country and local for 46 yrs. His last job was working in Atco, NJ for Raio Contracting and Materials. He was an extremely dedicated and very hard worker. He gave it his all. There was hardly anywhere he could go that someone didn’t know him, no matter what state he was in. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at the Star Cross Fire Hall, 4231 Tuckahoe Rd., Williamstown, NJ from 2:00pm to 5:00pm.
