Duane L. Gay

Duane L. Gay, age 72 of Atco, NJ passed away on Saturday, June 24th, 2023. He is survived by his daughters, Erica (Corey), LeAndrea (Adam), Robyn (Danny) and Ashley (Matt), his step daughter, Tammy (Jim) and extended family, Eunice and Alexa, his brother, Marlon Rae Gay (Mary), his grandchildren, Courtney, Evan, Mackenzie, Casey, Ian, Camryn, Wendy, Jalana, Michael, Milo, Robert, Joseph, and Lance, as well as his two great-grandchildren, Savannah and Sienna as well as three step grandchildren,  Paul, Kyle and Chris. Duane is predeceased by his first wife of 37 years, Carolyn Gay, his second wife of 8 years, Sandy Gay, and his parents, David Lee Gay and Marilyn Joy Gay (nee Ressler).

Duane was born and raised in Port Clinton, Ohio. He was a United States Navy Veteran and served during Vietnam, receiving the National Defense Service Medal. During his time in the Navy, Duane enjoyed traveling to many places around the world including Athens and Spain, some of his favorites! He also participated in the Navy’s Rodeo. Later in life he was a process engineer for Berry Plastics. In Duane’s spare time he enjoyed fishing, gardening, camping and anything outdoors. Duane admired people like Chuck Norris, Michael Jordan, John Wayne and was a die hard Yankees fan. Not only was Duane a champion bowler, he was a proud husband, father and grandfather. His most cherished time was spent with his family. He will be deeply missed.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, June 29th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ and again on Friday, June 30th from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at Atco United Methodist Church, 2128 Atco Ave, Atco. NJ. The funeral service will be held on Friday, June 30th, at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Bridger General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ. Condolences may be shared on Duane’s tribute wall.
